Last month, we reported that, with Saudia now supporting the luggage tracking program, the official list of supported airlines had grown to 30 globally . Now, Latin America’s largest carrier is also joining in.
As reported this week by (via ), LATAM, the largest airline group in Latin America, has started supporting location sharing for passengers on flights within Brazil and across South America.
Starting now, customers whose bags are delayed or missing can generate a secure link from the Find My app on their iPhone, iPad, or Mac, and submit it through LATAM’s .
Once the bag is recovered, users can stop sharing the location link or let it expire automatically after seven days.
According to LATAM, the company handles over 40 million bags per year, and already reports a mishandling rate about 50% lower than the industry average. Still, it says this new option will offer extra peace of mind for travelers.
With the addition of LATAM, the number of Share Item Location partners now includes at least 31 airlines:

First, make sure your device is running the latest OS version. Then:
- Go to the Find My app on your device.
- Tap Items, tap the item that you want to share location updates for, then tap Share Item Location.
- Follow the onscreen instructions to create and share a temporary webpage.
- Tap Done.
Apple notes that in order to “provide updated locations, at least one of your Apple devices where you’re signed in to your needs to be online.”
