Cristiano Ronaldo was due to land in Hong Kong on Thursday, sparking excitement as fans vied to catch a glimpse of the football superstar.

A crowd gathered at the Regent Hong Kong hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui during the morning after word spread of Ronaldo’s rumoured arrival.

The Portuguese had boarded a flight departing Riyadh late on Wednesday alongside his Al-Nassr teammates, sources told the Post.

Their flight faced a slight weather-enforced delay en route, sources said.

Al-Nassr are playing in the Saudi Super Cup, which is being staged in Hong Kong and begins next week, while Ronaldo himself has opened a museum in the city.
