Yuen, a former member of the Southern District Council, left Lo Wu Correctional Institution at around 5.40am on Tuesday. Two black seven-seaters with their curtains drawn were reportedly seen leaving the compound, believed to be transporting Yuen.
A source said the 31-year-old returned home after 6am and was reunited with her family.
Later on Tuesday morning, Yuen posted on her Instagram account for the first time in four years.
In her selfie, she was seen with long hair and holding a bouquet of flowers gifted by Frankie Fung Tat-chun, one of the 45 jailed activists who was released in July.
“Thank you everyone for the hard work. I will take a nap first. Give rehabilitated people a chance. I will take a break,” she wrote in the caption.
