TechPowerUp mourns the untimely passing of Tatty_One , our dear friend and learned elder who has been with us since our founding years, almost two decades ago. He passed away on Friday, the 22nd of August 2025. He was 65, and departs his beloved wife, two daughters, and a granddaughter. We have been informed of this profoundly sad news by his youngest daughter. A PC enthusiast to the very core, Tatty's journey with TechPowerUp saw him quickly rise to the ranks of a senior moderator on the TechPowerUp Forums, where he was not just highly active in sharing his insights with CPU overclocking, but also policing the forums with his unique, easy, and very British style of breaking up arguments.

Tatty was also a nature-lover, and took an Attenborough-style interest in primates, small creatures, and marine life. His favorite recreational activity was fishing. Tatty had a long and illustrious career in service of Britain, as an officer in the Army. He is also known to have served in various diplomatic roles across the Commonwealth, such as in the High Commission in New Delhi, just to illustrate the professional heft he brought to his role as senior moderator. As he retired from this role, he renamed his account Tatty_Two, and was very active in the TechPowerUp UK Clubhouse, clacking away with his countrymen, with his most recent post dating back to last week.
