Ted Lasso season 4 is coming: Here’s everything we know so far

Apple TV+ has been on a comedy hot streak this year. But the TV+ comedy that will always live on in our hearts and minds— —is currently preparing a new season. Here’s everything we know about Ted Lasso season 4.

Ted Lasso Jason Sudeikis season 4

Questions about Ted Lasso’s fourth season have abounded since all the way back when season 3 was airing.

Especially over the past six months, though, there’s been abundant evidence that the show would make a season 4 return. From teases by execs , series stars , and the co-creator Bill Lawrence , to cast contract renewals , production being officially scheduled, and more.

Finally though, in March 2025 Apple made it official .

Production kicked off in July 2025 in Kansas City, revealing some familiar faces at a BBQ restaurant—perhaps the place where Ted gets recruited to come back to Richmond.

The vast majority of the Ted Lasso cast is expected to return for season 4. Which is great news since the show’s ensemble is a core strength.

Some of the Richmond players are expected to appear less often, however, returning for guest appearances rather than being series regulars.

There’s also a particularly noteworthy addition to the creative team for Ted Lasso’s new season.

As highlighted in Apple’s announcement press release, Jack Burditt (Nobody Wants This, Modern Family, 30 Rock) has signed on as executive producer. He’s apparently helping Sudeikis lead the writers’ room, which is exciting considering Burditt’s strong track record and some of the issues that plagued season 3 .

The man behind the mustache, Jason Sudeikis, might not have quite as big a presence in Ted Lasso’s new season.

Matt Belloni on his podcast The Town said that, based on what he’s heard , Sudeikis won’t be present for the entirety of the new season.

There will be many, many returning cast members. But Sudeikis will be minimized on the show.

Whether this turns out to be true or not, I still expect we’ll see plenty of Ted in season 4. Just perhaps not as much as before.

This wouldn’t altogether be surprising, since Lasso already stepped back a little in season 3 to give the strong ensemble more time to shine. Season 4 could follow the same approach.

As first reported by Sigmund Judge , one major narrative thread of the new season will be the formation of AFC Richmond’s women’s team.

Jason Sudeikis confirmed this on a :

“We’re writing season four now; that’s the official word. Ted’s coaching a women’s team.”

It’s very likely that the men’s team will still be a regular part of the show, but Richmond will also seek to expand its offerings by adding a women’s team for the first time.

Production on Ted Lasso season 4 kicked off this summer. That said, there are still a lot of unknowns that make it difficult to pin down a tentative Apple TV+ debut date.

Unless there are major unexpected disruptions or delays, season 4 will likely arrive some time in 2026 —perhaps as early as during the summer.
