Today, reMarkable a much smaller version of the reMarkable Paper Pro, dubbed . It comes in at a much lower price tag, and still packs all of the beloved features of the . It’s designed for work on the go, and can easily be slipped in a jacket pocket, bag, or purse.

I reviewed the reMarkable Paper Pro earlier this year – and it was an excellent product. The only issue I took with it was the price. Not because I felt that it was overpriced, but because it was priced in a way that only made sense for people who were extremely committed to the minimal, distraction-free, and hyper-focused lifestyle that the was designed around.

The 11.8-inch version of the reMarkable Paper Pro came in at $679 with the excellent Marker Plus stylus. Now, the comes in at just $499 with the same Marker Plus. That’s the same price point as an – and that doesn’t even account for the fact that the doesn’t come with an .

The new comes with everything I loved about the larger Paper Pro. Its excellent ‘Color Canvas’ e-ink display, the premium build, its adjustable reading light, and reMarkable’s excellent software all carry over to this much smaller device.

With the new $499 price point of the , it’s a much easier purchase to justify. Plus, with the much smaller footprint of this model, you might find yourself using it in far more scenarios than you’d use a nearly 12-inch device.
