As per XFX, Radeon RX 9060 XT with Samsung memory modules can sustain higher memory frequencies for longer and run much cooler.
AMD's board partner, XFX, used GDDR6 memory modules on its Radeon RX 9060 XT from SK Hynix, which is one of the major memory module makers for GPUs. The company has recently transitioned to Samsung GDDR6 memory modules, and as per the latest statement, Samsung's chips are doing far better than SK Hynix memory thermally, helping in a performance boost for a longer time.
XFX recently released its latest Radeon RX 9060 XT variant called RX 9060 XT "V3", which is a revised version of the GPU, featuring Samsung's memory chips. As per the company, these memory chips run at 10°C lower than the SK Hynix memory, which is a huge difference. It's common to see quite high memory temperatures on Radeon RX 9000 GPUs, but some previous reports indicated that Samsung GDDR6 memory modules tend to operate at a slightly higher temperature than SK Hynix GDDR6 . So, this is quite opposite and the difference is much larger.
A 10°C temperature difference is quite large and is pretty helpful in maintaining higher memory clocks for a longer duration. This is considering when the GPU fans were already spinning slower on the RX 9060 XT V3. XFX says that at 1461 RPM fan speed, the RX 9060 XT V3 was able to maintain 77°C while the SK Hynix memory ran at 87°C with fans running at 1814 RPM, which is nearly 400 RPM higher. Moreover, the RX 9060 XT V3 consumes less power while running the FurMark 4K test, and consumes just 183W vs 207W by the previous RX 9060 XT edition with SK Hynix memory.
With such drastic differences, it's obvious that the manufacturer will opt for Samsung's modules over SK Hynix's as the GPU can now sustain higher frequency with fewer chances of frequency drops. All in all, this brings reduced power consumption, lower temperatures, lower noise, and higher performance to the table simultaneously. XFX has released the Radeon RX 9060 XT V3 editions for sale on e-commerce websites such as JD and can be identified with the "V3" suffix.
