Dynabook plans to roll out three new lightweight laptop models (G8, G6 and GS series) in Japan at the end of October. Each model weighs just 849 g featuring Intel Core Ultra processors and comes in Nebula Black and Celeste Blue color variants. The top-of-the-line G8 series comes with Core Ultra 7 or Ultra 5 processors, 16 GB of memory, and a 512 GB solid-state drive. It features a 13.3-inch WUXGA (16:10) display with a matte finish and wide viewing angles. For security, it offers face recognition and a TPM chip. The G6 model is powered by Core Ultra 5 CPUs, while keeping the same 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. It shares the same 13.3-inch display as its bigger sibling. Security-wise, it matches the G8, including face recognition.
The budget-friendly GS series runs on Core Ultra 5 with 16 GB of RAM but trims storage to a 256 GB SSD. It swaps out face recognition for a fingerprint reader while keeping the same screen and weight. All three models offer similar battery life: 11 hours of video watching and up to 28 hours on standby. They come equipped with two Thunderbolt 4 ports, three USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, HDMI, LAN, and microSD card slots. Standard features across the series include Wi-Fi 6E Bluetooth 5.3, and a 2 MP webcam with a privacy cover. They come bundled with Microsoft 365 Basic and Office Home & Business 2024. Prices are still unknown, as is availability on markets outside Japan.
