Xbox Series X Galaxy Edition now at $799
Microsoft raises Xbox Series S/X prices in the US again

Microsoft has confirmed another round of price increases for its Xbox Series consoles in the United States. Starting October 3rd, the Xbox Series X will cost $649.99, up from $599.99, while the entry-level Series S will move to $399.99 from $379.99.
The company cites “changes in the macroeconomic environment,” widely understood to mean tariffs, as the reason for the adjustment. Xbox console pricing outside the US remains unchanged, and accessories such as controllers and headsets will keep their current prices.

This marks the second round of Xbox price hikes in 2025. Earlier this year, Microsoft raised the price of both consoles globally, along with controllers and headsets. Taken together, the Series X has gone up by $150 and the Series S by $100 in the US over the past six months.
The most drastic increase affects the 2TB Galaxy Black Special Edition, which originally launched at $599.99 but will soon sell for $799.99, a $200 jump in less than a year.
Microsoft had also planned to increase the price of its first-party Xbox games to $80 this holiday season but reversed that decision in July.
