DDR5-13020 OC record broken
Salty Croissant teases a new world record.

We stopped covering memory overclocking world records because reporting on single or even double-digit changes in rankings no longer made sense. However, today marks an important milestone.
Overclocker Salty Croissant has become the first to break DDR5 memory overclocking at 6510 MHz. This translates to 13020 MT/s, the highest frequency achieved so far. Interestingly, although Croissant already holds the top spot in the HWBOT ranking, this score has not appeared there yet. It may not have gone through full validation, or it could still require additional work to be confirmed.

As always, it’s important to note that overclocking world records are not meant to produce stable clocks or anything resembling real-world use. Croissant used a single 24GB DDR5 stick, and the timings are far from what any gamer would consider ideal. These records are also typically achieved with CPUs running at reduced core counts.
This record should not be seen as an indicator of what to expect in upcoming desktop systems. On the contrary, such frequencies are unlikely to appear in consumer hardware anytime soon. While some overclocking boards already support 10,000 MT/s memory out of the box, these are rare and aimed at a very niche market.
