AMD’s best gaming CPU finally at a lower price thanks to Amazon
Amazon US has lowered the price of AMD’s Ryzen 7 9800X3D by 10%, bringing it down to $449. This marks the lowest recorded price on the platform and the first major cut since the CPU launched at $479 in November 2024.
The 9800X3D has been the top choice for gamers looking for peak frame rates without overspending on higher-core models. Based on Zen 5 with 3D V-Cache, it continues to outperform more expensive CPUs in gaming benchmarks, cementing its position as the leading high-end gaming processor.
Ryzen 7 9800X3D
While the chip has seen short-lived dips in pricing before, this is the deepest discount to date and comes amid seasonal inventory shifts and the run-up to upcoming product launches. Earlier this year, supply shortages made the CPU difficult to find, but it is now widely available at this reduced price.
At present, the $449 listing on Amazon US is the best deal available. Other retailers have not yet updated their prices, so this may not be an ‘official’ price cut.
