OBS Studio 32 released

OBS Studio 32.0 is now available for Linux, macOS, and Windows. The update arrives about two and a half months after version 31.1 and introduces several new features, changes, and fixes.

The release adds a built-in plugin manager, making it easier to install and manage community plugins. On Windows and macOS, an opt-in crash log uploader has been added to streamline troubleshooting. NVIDIA users benefit from Voice Activity Detection (VAD) in RTX Audio Effects for cleaner speech suppression, along with optimizations to existing effects. NVIDIA RTX Background Removal now also includes a chair removal option.

OBS Studio 32

OBS Studio 32.0 introduces experimental Metal rendering support for Apple Silicon Macs and Hybrid MOV output. This new format brings ProRes support to macOS and adds a more broadly supported HEVC/H.264 + PCM audio option across all platforms. Hybrid MP4/MOV, now out of beta, has also been made the default output container for new profiles.

The release also addresses stability with numerous bug fixes, including crashes tied to SRT, Media Source playback, and macOS screen capture, along with memory leaks and UI issues.

OBS Studio 32.0 is available to download now, with builds provided for Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, Windows, and macOS. A full list of changes can be found on the project’s GitHub releases page.
