2XKO, the new 2v2 tag-team fighting game set in the League of Legends universe, has officially been confirmed to launch in early access on October 7. This is following the closed beta that started on September 9 . The early access launch will immediately follow the closure of the closed beta period, and starting with the early access launch, 2XKO will no longer feature any content resets. Early access will also see the addition of 2XKO's 10th champion and the start of the first gameplay season. In the meantime, Riot Games says it will be using the remainder of the closed beta period to refine the game, address balance, and work on ranked gameplay and the Battle Pass system.
Along with the release date, Riot Games also announced that it is investigating how to support the community tournaments that have sprung up during the open beta period. The first step towards an official competitive scene in 2XKO is the First Impact program, which will see the game studio sponsor 22 tournament events across the Americas, Europe, and Asia. These events will remain community-hosted events with their own prize pots, but Riot will be contributing an additional $2,500 prize for winning duos in First Impact tournaments. Check the First Impact announcement for the full tournament schedule and how to sign up.
