Intel hints at XeSS Multi-Frame Generation technology

Intel XeSS Multi-Frame Generation in files, but is it still in plans?

Redditor discovers references to multi-frame generation XeSS technology.

Could this be the new feature Intel has been quietly working on, set to launch alongside the Arc B770 GPU this year? Possibly, but Intel has not confirmed anything, and Arc graphics appear to be losing spotlight under the new Intel/NVIDIA deal.

What we do know is that Battlemage GPU series is still in development, and the expectation is that Intel will release a more powerful discrete GPU for gamers this year. Beyond raw performance, there is one technology Intel has yet to introduce to match its competitors, particularly NVIDIA.

AMD has not released multi-frame generation, while NVIDIA has kept this feature exclusive to its RTX 50 Blackwell series. Since the Intel XeSS stack is not limited to Intel hardware, multi-frame generation, which Intel is now teasing in files, could arrive on more GPUs.

Redditor Organic-Bird-587 discovered not only a comment referencing this technology (even mentioning it as part of XeSS) but also an icon included in the header image. This is not an ultimate confirmation that such technology is coming, rather that either someone made a mistake of mentioning it, or Intel is preparing for something that may be included in the graphics settings, should engineers ever develop something like this.

Frame generation technology has been democratized with AMD FSR FG and Intel XeSS FG, both of which can run on competing GPUs. NVIDIA, however, has taken a different approach and does not allow other vendors to use their technology. If Intel launches this feature, it could deliver higher frame rates to more gamers, though not necessarily with the same quality as native rendering. In the meantime, gamers can turn to third-party tools like Lossless Scaling, which is known to offer up to 20x frame generation .
