OneXfly Apex gets MAX+ 395, 8″ 120Hz screen and Mini-SSD, detachable battery

GPD, AYANEO, and now OneXPlayer will have Ryzen AI MAX+ powered gaming handhelds. So far, only GPD has introduced its system, but despite the efforts of partnered content creators, the device is not gaining much attention due to its very high price.
The Apex gaming handheld has not been fully revealed yet. For now, there is only a teaser from the company’s social media confirming basic specs, such as an 8-inch 120Hz panel and 120W TDP settings. The external battery will no longer be exclusive to the GPD Win 5 system for now (AYANEO has already confirmed a built-in one). The Apex has an 85WH ‘removable battery’, as well.

The screen is native landscape , so you won’t face the orientation issues seen on the first Lenovo Legion system. It runs at 120Hz and supports variable refresh rate (no range provided). The handheld also features adjustable multi-stage triggers and dual speakers tuned by Harman, according to the company.
In terms of cooling, the company claims to have implemented a “ silent liquid cooling ” solution. What this means is unclear, so it may be best to wait for official details.

The video confirms that, like the previous Intel-based handheld, this model will support Mini SSD. This is the new proprietary BiWin design, now adopted by three products (GPD, OneXPlayer, and AYANEO). It is a PCIe 4.0 x2 SSD that allows easy storage swaps in a very small form factor.
Interestingly, the company did not announce this system during its recent product showcase, which is unusual. It may indicate some last-minute changes.
