Hong Kong police are investigating the discovery of a 58-year-old Hong Kong man who was found dead inside a parked car on Saturday evening.

Police said they received a report from a security guard at 5.47 pm on Saturday, who found the man collapsed inside the vehicle at Hong Keung Court residential estate’s car park in Lok Fu.

The man, surnamed Wong, was certified dead at the scene, the force said.

According to local media, the man had been playing football with friends at the nearby Morse Park until 11am that morning. His jersey and sports shoes were still inside the vehicle when he was found.

Car park staff reportedly approached the vehicle after noticing the car’s engine and headlights were still on in the evening, before calling police.

Police said an autopsy would be arranged to determine the man’s cause of death and that their investigation was ongoing.
