If you’re a fan of crime thrillers with a strong dose of humor thrown in, Apple TV+ has you covered this fall.
Slow Horses is now airing its fifth season, and in just a few weeks, a brand new series from the same author will debut—and its first trailer looks fantastic.
Down Cemetery Road premieres Wednesday, October 29 on Apple TV+ with two episodes, followed by weekly releases through December 10.

The detective series stars Emma Thompson and Ruth Wilson, and is based on . Herron also wrote the that Slow Horses is based on.
Further tying the two series together: Morwenna Banks, who wrote several episodes of Slow Horses, wrote the entirety of Down Cemetery Road too and serves as executive producer. As a fun random trivia tidbit, Banks is also an actress, and voices Mummy Pig in the popular Peppa Pig series.
Here’s Apple’s summary of Down Cemetery Road, followed by the trailer:
When a house explodes in a quiet Oxford suburb and a girl disappears in the aftermath, neighbor Sarah Trafford (Wilson) becomes obsessed with finding her and enlists the help of private investigator Zoë Boehm (Thompson). Zoë and Sarah suddenly find themselves in a complex conspiracy that reveals people long believed dead are still among the living, while the living are fast joining the dead.
Based on the trailer, Down Cemetery Road clearly seems to follow the winning formula of Slow Horses in pairing comedy with crime drama. I was excited to see the new show based on the creative team alone, but this trailer has made it one of my most anticipated new series.
