The open-source Newton engine builds atop NVIDIA Warp as a developer framework for building and accelerating data generation and spatial computing in the Python programming language. Warp in turn is accelerated when making use of NVIDIA CUDA-X. Netwon also builds on other software such as the OpenUSD framework and MuJuCo compatibility. The focus on Newton is on enhancing the open-source robotics software ecosystem.
Today the Linux Foundation announced that NVIDIA, Disney Research, and Google DeepMind have contributed the code for accelerating open-source robotics learning.
Those wanting to learn more can do so via the Linux Foundation press release . The Newton open-source code continues to be developed on GitHub .
