At the Tokyo Game Show, MSI presented a prototype graphics card that keeps the 12V-2×6 power connector hidden under its cooler, adopting a classic Project Zero design philosophy for a sleeker look. A brief video posted by a Japanese YouTuber captured the unit, showing the connector relocated from its usual side-facing location to the end of the PCB beneath the heatsink, allowing the power lead to be routed rearwards and exit behind a removable backplate. MSI appears to have lengthened the PCB slightly, so the plug points more naturally toward the motherboard tray and avoids a severe ninety-degree bend. A perforated pad covers the heatsink fins to prevent abrasion where the cable passes. There is a magnetic cover on top of the connector to hide the cable, which pops off with a slight use of force.
The prototype is built on a white Ventus 3X RTX 5070 Ti chassis; fitting the concealing backplate noticeably reduces the flow-through opening for the third fan compared with the stock Ventus design. MSI has not said if the hidden-connector layout will enter production or be applied across other product lines, and the company's official show materials did not include the card with the PCB, but rather only a cooler to showcase future connector placement. The concept would align with MSI's Project Zero ambitions, which already feature rear-mounted connectors on some motherboards and offer cases designed to hide cables. Adding graphics cards with concealed power plugs would complete the brand's "visually wireless" pitch and simplify in-case aesthetics for builders.
