Qualcomm’s Adreno X2 iGPU faster than Ryzen AI HX 370 and Core Ultra 9 285H graphics in synthetic tests

Qualcomm has lifted the embargo on some of its official benchmarks. While these are first-party numbers, attendees at the Qualcomm Tech Summit last week were able to see the same results live on demo units, confirming they are indeed accurate.
Synthetic benchmarks, however, only tell part of the story. In 2025, their usefulness for evaluating real-world graphics remains limited, especially for gaming. Qualcomm’s Adreno graphics for Snapdragon X-series Windows on ARM laptops still face challenges with driver updates and game optimizations, areas where both AMD and Intel have more mature support. With that in mind, the benchmark data provides useful context, but it should not be mistaken for a complete picture of expected performance.
Qualcomm shared two results using UL’s 3DMark suite. In Solar Bay, a Vulkan-based cross-platform ray tracing test, the Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme achieved 84.37 to 90.47 FPS. In Steel Nomad Light, a DirectX 12 raster test, the GPU scored between 41.46 and 42.61 FPS. Both are lightweight benchmarks, with Solar Bay focused on ray tracing and Nomad Light designed to stress modern rasterization techniques without RT. Neither benchmark is positioned at the high-end GPUs though.

Luckily for us, these numbers were put together by HotHardware, which places these results in some context. I n Steel Nomad Light, Adreno X2 performs ahead of all integrated GPUs from AMD and Intel, including the Radeon 890M and Intel Arc 140T, and even edges out the GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop. It falls short, however, of the GeForce RTX 4060 and the Radeon 8060S found in AMD’s Strix Halo, which can be xtwice as fast.

In Solar Bay, the ranking changes. Here, Qualcomm’s chip trails the RTX 3050 Laptop and remains well behind the RTX 4060 and Radeon 8060S. Even so, it still beats all other integrated solutions, including Intel’s Xe2 graphics in Lunar Lake. Qualcomm also nearly doubled ray tracing performance compared to its previous generation, though the uplift was smaller than in the rasterization test.
