Intel’s latest Arc driver adds Pro Battlemage support, enables mixed Arc B580 and Pro B60 setup

Intel newest Arc driver supports both gaming and workstation GPUs

This is something I thought I missed when covering the last driver release from Intel . Not only did this driver split graphics support into Arc and pre-Arc GPUs, it also introduced support for workstation GPUs known as the Arc Pro series. Apparently, since the driver was posted, Intel has updated the support list to include Arc Pro B60 and B50 graphics.

Arc Battlemage graphics are split into gaming and workstation series. The latter uses the same architecture but with modified core counts, TDP, and memory configurations. Intel is not treating the series as a completely separate branch like NVIDIA does for its RTX Pro Blackwell models. Instead, they are positioned as extensions of the gaming variants. As a result, the company confirmed that the Arc Pro series will also be supported by the official gaming drivers. This makes them similar to GeForce GPUs that can use NVIDIA Studio drivers, aimed at content creation.

Intel has already separated drivers between pre-Arc (Intel 11th Gen Core to 14th Gen Core integrated graphics) and Arc (Meteor Lake, Lunar Lake, and discrete Alchemist and Battlemage) GPUs. The addition of the workstation variants was included as part of this driver split.

Initially, Intel did not confirm support for the B60 and B50 cards, which were not actually listed in the product support list originally. However, this later changed after confirmation from Intel’s Bob Duffy, who demonstrated both Arc B580 and Arc Pro B60 running in a single system with AI Playground software.
