RTX 3080 20GB card for gamers features PNY 4090 cooler and fancy box, costs $around 447

Chinese company “Fengpo” has introduced a GeForce RTX 3080 graphics card with 20GB of memory (the card normally has 10GB). Such a configuration was never officially released by NVIDIA, though the company had considered 20GB options for the 3080 series that were ultimately scrapped. At some point, Chinese AI GPU firms that modify gaming cards into blower-style compute models also released versions with expanded memory.

What’s new this time is that Fengpo has launched a 3080 20GB with a standard gaming-style cooler. While the packaging still mentions AI, the card is not aimed at large AI farms or bulk sales to enterprise customers. Instead, it is clearly targeted at gamers. The company even designed its own retail box, which is unusual for these modified models.

The card was tested by Chinese content creator “GPU Girl,” who benchmarked it in gaming and even compared it in LM Studio against the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB, where the 3080 20GB came out ahead.
a brand called fengpo (风魄) launched rtx3080 20g, manufactured by shenzhen chuangyu cloud intelligence.
it looks similar to pny 4090 vetro, both use 16pin. this rtx3080 20g got twenty g6x chips meaning it is 1gb per chip and both sides of pcb are used just like any 3090.… pic.twitter.com/CfNAiyuXHZ

On closer inspection, the Fengpo 3080 20GB appears to be based on a PNY Verto RTX 3090 cooler. It features a large triple-slot heatsink with 20 GDDR6X modules spread across both sides of the PCB. Since the 3080 and 3090 share the same GPU, modifying an existing design was easier than developing a new one from scratch.

The most important detail is that Fengpo is not an official NVIDIA board partner. The GPU itself was manufactured in 2021, meaning it is not new, it was pulled from a functioning RTX 3080 card and placed on a custom PCB with increased memory capacity.
In other words, this is one of the first custom memory variants that actually makes sense because it is not for AI farms but normal users. The card is listed for around $447 in China.
