AMD lists new workstation GPU called Radeon PRO W7900D

AMD has quietly introduced a new SKU that appeared in a recent driver changelog. The card is called Radeon PRO W7900D , where the “D” denotes a new version. This would be the third model based on the same Navi 31 GPU, following last year’s W7900 and W7900 Dual Slot releases.
Both the W7900 and W7900 DS use the Navi 31 GPU, feature 6,144 Stream Processors, and come with 48 GB of GDDR6 memory. The only difference is that the Dual Slot model has a thinner cooler design and launched later at a lower price.

Meanwhile, the W7900D has not yet been listed by AMD. We also checked the Chinese version of AMD’s website, as the name strongly suggests it could be AMD’s response to NVIDIA’s China-exclusive RTX 4090D/5090D series. AMD has long been rumored to be preparing such region-specific variants, but so far nothing has been confirmed.
The driver mentioning the card was released over ten days ago, and no new product page has appeared since. The W7900D is not even listed as a selectable option on the driver download page. That said, there are no official specifications for the W7900D. Rather than speculate, we will wait until AMD publishes official details.
