Samsung has quietly unveiled the Odyssey G60F, a 27-inch monitor with a 2560x1440 resolution, designed for users who need versatility in gaming, content creation, and everyday tasks. The monitor boasts a high 350 Hz refresh rate and an IPS panel, offering what many consider the ideal configuration: QHD clarity combined with fast IPS performance. Samsung has optimized the panel to deliver a 1-millisecond gray-to-gray response time, effectively reducing motion blur in competitive gaming. The matte anti-glare coating enhances usability in various lighting conditions, which is beneficial for professionals working long hours. The G60F also features variable refresh rate technology, supporting NVIDIA's G-SYNC Compatible mode and AMD FreeSync Premium, with a VRR window of 48-350 Hz and Low Frame Rate Compensation.
This makes it adaptable for console gaming, with HDMI 2.1 connectivity allowing 120 Hz operation at 4K resolution with HDR and VRR on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X systems. The monitor offers 99% sRGB color accuracy and a flicker-free WLED backlight with a typical brightness of 350 cd/m². While it has DisplayHDR 400 certification, it lacks local dimming, reflecting a balanced approach rather than a focus on specialized HDR performance. The design prioritizes functionality with slim dual-stage bezels and a fully adjustable stand, offering 120 mm of height adjustment, pivot for portrait orientation, and tilt and swivel options. It also supports VESA 100 mounting for arm installations. Connectivity options include DisplayPort 1.4 with DSC, HDMI 2.1, and a 3.5 mm audio jack, with ports located beneath the stand attachment. An external power adapter is used for electrical needs. Samsung has priced the Odyssey G60F at around $500, though the release date has not been announced.
