Ryzen 7 9700X and Core Ultra 7 265K at record-low prices

If you’re looking for an affordable CPU with at least 8 cores, both Amazon and Newegg are offering solid discounts during their “Prime Days” and “Fantastech” sales.
Amazon has an exclusive Prime offer on the Ryzen 7 9700X, an 8-core Zen 5 processor, priced at just $250. This is the lowest price so far—over $200 cheaper than the Ryzen 9 9800X3D. If you’re not a dedicated gamer, it might be worth saving that money now, as you can always upgrade later.
At Newegg, the Core Ultra 7 265K is also discounted. While there isn’t much of an upgrade path for this platform, you’re getting a 20-core CPU (8 P-cores and 12 E-cores) for just $309.99. Newegg is also offering an extra $50 off, bringing the total down to $259.99. On top of that, the deal includes an MSI MAG 360mm liquid cooling AIO, which alone is worth around $149.99.

The second deal from Intel is actually quite surprising. This CPU debuted at $394, so it’s already 34% cheaper. Intel lowered the price for this SKU at some point, as they had no way to compete with AMD Ryzen X3D CPUs. At this price, especially with the included cooler, it’s a solid deal. The only drawback is that the LGA-1851 platform is unlikely to receive any major upgrades in the future. Intel has only confirmed Arrow Lake Refresh, and they’ve already made it clear it won’t be a major update.
