MSI updates Project Zero, RTX 5070 Ti Ventus 3X PZ released

MSI has only just teased the new cards at Tokyo Game Show in September, and they are already bringing them to market. These cards are called Ventus 3X PZ, and there are two models, both based on the RTX 5070 Ti SKU.
The PZ in the product name refers to Project Zero, which hasn’t been mentioned much in the RTX 50 generation so far. This is MSI’s idea for a hidden power connector design, not a complete elimination of cables, but a way to keep them out of sight. Just because the card has a hidden connector doesn’t mean there are no cables; they are simply tucked away for a clean, unobstructed look. MSI calls this approach the Zero-Trace Power Path.

The idea is that the connector is moved deeper into the card, attached directly to the PCB, and covered with a magnetically attached backplate. Users can remove it at any time for card removal or inspection, and it’s worth remembering this is a 12V-2×6 connector we’re talking about.
Otherwise, the Ventus 3X PZ (OC) is identical to the original model. It shares the same clock speeds and features, but this new design could theoretically perform slightly worse thermally, as MSI had to trim part of the heatsink to accommodate the new layout.

MSI has not yet confirmed how much will PZ cards cost, nor there’s any information on which motherboards/cases are supported. But since this is just a cable hiding, it should work with all modern cases and it shouldn’t require any changes from motherboards. It’s worth noting that Sapphire , Inno3D and Gigabyte all have the same hidden power connector design already available.
