Apple TV+ has one of its best-reviewed shows coming back soon

Apple TV+ offers a growing library of critically acclaimed titles, including one top-reviewed series you’ve probably never heard of: Drops of God. Now, Apple has that season 2 of Drops of God is coming soon.

has long been one of the hidden gems of the Apple TV+ content library.

The series is based on the New York Times bestselling Japanese manga series of the same name.

It’s set in the world of gastronomy and fine wines, and is one of the best reviewed shows on Apple TV+. Season 1 has a from 27 reviews and a 93% audience score.

The main reason you’ve probably never heard of it before is that it’s a multilingual series, with French and Japanese both spoken regularly alongside English. Not everyone is interested in a show that requires subtitles, but if you can get past that, you still have time to catch up on the series.

Drops of God season 2 will premiere Wednesday, January 21 on Apple TV+, with weekly releases through March 11.

That’s essentially the same release slot as Severance season 2 got this year—it debuted January 17. Both series had strong first seasons with loyal followings, but didn’t quite go mainstream at first. I’ll be interested to see if Apple throws extra marketing weight into making Drops of God season 2 a hit.

Here’s a spoiler-free series summary, followed by the to help gauge your interest:
