Intel XPU Manager drops Data Center Max/Flex GPU support just two years after launch

Intel XPU now only supports Arc Pro B60 GPUs

I still remember writing about the Data Center / Flex GPU series like it was yesterday, but apparently, they are already entering their depreciation stage. The news comes from Intel Tech Tour 2025, which coincides with the release of the new XPU Manager (version 1.3), a tool for managing and monitoring Intel data center GPUs.

This tool is designed for users running graphics cards in servers, remote sites, or environments without direct access or surveillance. It provides an API that can integrate with platforms like Grafana. Every time I hear about Grafana, it reminds me that I should learn how to use it. Grafana is open-source software that aggregates data from servers, PCs, and IoT devices into one dashboard, allowing users to monitor multiple systems at once, essentially a centralized monitoring station for everything.

Apparently, the latest XPU Manager update drops support for the Arctic Sound GPU series , meaning both the Data Center GPU Flex and Data Center GPU Max are no longer supported in version 1.3.3. Does this mean you can’t use the software anymore? No, Intel recommends using version 1.2, which still supports these GPUs, but it seems there will be no further updates for the hardware or its API.

You might wonder, since Intel technically no longer has active data center GPUs, what is XPU Manager used for now? Apparently, only for the Arc Pro B60, not even the B50 or B580, it seems.
