HP launches OMEN 16 League of Legends Edition laptop with RTX 5070 and 240 Hz display

HP has introduced a special edition of its OMEN 16 gaming laptop themed after League of Legends. The new OMEN 16 League of Legends Limited Edition is part of HP’s expanded partnership with Riot Games, which also includes the recently announced OMEN 25 Gaming Monitor, the official display for League of Legends and VALORANT esports events.

The limited-edition laptop features a black-and-gold design with League of Legends-inspired details, including QWER and DF key highlights, HEXTECH accents, and a custom typeface. It can be configured with up to an Intel Core i7-14650HX processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU with 8 GB of GDDR7 memory. The system supports up to 32 GB of DDR5-5600 RAM and a 1 TB PCIe Gen4 SSD.

Two display options are available: a 16-inch WQXGA (2560 × 1600) panel with a 240 Hz refresh rate and 500 nits of brightness, or a 2K (1920 × 1200) 165 Hz variant. Both use IPS panels with full sRGB coverage and Variable Refresh Rate support. HP’s enhanced cooling system includes wider fan gaps, an added heat pipe, and quieter acoustics.

The OMEN 16 also features HP’s OMEN AI tuning system for automated performance and thermal management, plus an “Unleashed” mode for higher sustained power limits. Connectivity includes one USB-C (10 Gbps, DisplayPort 1.4, Power Delivery), three USB-A ports, HDMI 2.1, RJ-45, and a headphone jack. Wireless options include Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3/5.4.

Other features include an 83 Wh battery with fast charging (50% in 30 minutes), HyperX Audio with DTS:X Ultra, a 1080p camera, and recycled materials used in key components. The laptop weighs about 2.43 kg and ships with Windows 11 Home.
