ASUS launches ROG NUC 9 MINI with Ryzen 9 9955HX3D processor
Better CPU but fewer GPU options than the Intel version.
ASUS has introduced a new version of its compact gaming PC under the ROG NUC series, called the ROG NUC 9 MINI. This system is powered by AMD’s Ryzen 9 9955HX3D, the company’s flagship mobile processor featuring 16 Zen 5 cores and 3D V-Cache technology. The chip is regarded as one of the fastest gaming CPUs for laptops, offering desktop-class performance in a compact chassis.
However, the graphics configuration is a step down from the Intel-based ROG NUC systems. While the Core Ultra 9 200-series model supports up to an RTX 5080 GPU, the AMD variant is limited to an RTX 5070 Laptop GPU . ASUS appears to continue favoring Intel setups, which may not be surprising given that the company inherited the NUC brand from Intel itself.

Despite the “Mini” label, the chassis size remains unchanged from the Intel version. The new model make up with improved storage and memory capacity. It now supports up to 4TB PCIe SSD storage (compared to 2TB on Intel) and up to 96GB of DDR5 memory, though the memory runs at a lower 5600 MT/s instead of 6400 MT/s.
ASUS rates the system with a 75W CPU and 115W GPU power limit, maintaining balanced thermals for a small-form-factor machine.

The ROG NUC 9 MINI is priced at around $2,100 and, for now, appears to be available only in China, where it was officially introduced.
