MAXSUN Terminator B850 BKB WiFi motherboard does not require PCIe risers for GPU
Case compatibility remains an open question.

MAXSUN has unveiled the MS-Terminator B850 BKB WiFi, a Mini-ITX motherboard for AMD’s AM5 platform that brings back the company’s distinctive rear-mounted GPU slot design. This layout allows users to install a graphics card directly on the back of the board, eliminating the need for a PCIe riser cable and improving signal stability.

The Terminator B850 BKB is based on the AMD B850 chipset and supports Ryzen 7000, 8000, and 9000 series processors. It includes a PCIe 5.0 x16 slot on the back of the PCB, compatible with modern GPUs such as the Radeon RX 9000 and GeForce RTX 50 series. The vertical mounting layout helps prevent GPU sag and reduces case depth, making it suitable for compact enclosures (MaxSun is yet to provide a list of compatible ones).
Despite its small size, the motherboard two DDR5 DIMM slots supporting up to 96 GB of memory, a front PCIe x4 slot, two M.2 sockets (one front, one back), and two SATA ports.

MAXSUN has yet to share full specifications for VRM design, memory frequency support, or Wi-Fi version, but the board has been teased across the company’s social media accounts. Pricing and availability details are expected soon. As you can see, MaxSun is not stranger to AMD motherboards, they already have 9 versions of B850 models, but interestingly, not a single X870 .
