Intel Core Ultra 200K PLUS Arrow Lake Refresh starts to leak

You might have seen rumors about Intel’s upcoming refresh of desktop CPUs known as Arrow Lake. The supposed refresh is said to arrive around Q1 next year, but it has not been confirmed by the company.
Earlier this week, we started receiving tips about the potential naming of the new Core Ultra 200 series. Apparently, Intel is making some cosmetic changes to already launched SKUs. One of these CPUs is the Core Ultra 7 270K Plus.
While the information we had suggested it was a refresh of the Core Ultra 7 265K, which implies 20 cores (8P+12E), data from a Geekbench test suggests otherwise. It appears to have 8 P-Cores and 16 E-Cores, which makes it more like a refresh or downclocked version of the Core Ultra 9 285K. We can’t be certain about this reading, but it seems to be based on a new Lenovo desktop already undergoing testing.
The leak also shows that the CPU has a base clock of 3.7 GHz and a boost clock of up to 5.5 GHz, the same as the 265K. The test system was paired with a GeForce RTX 5090D, further confirming that it was likely tested in China.

In terms of performance, the CPU scores 3215 points in the Geekbench 6 single-core test and 22720 points in the multi-core test. These are nearly identical to the results of the Core Ultra 9 285K according to official rankings.
At this point, we don’t know anything about platform changes, TDP ranges, or whether the reported core count is accurate. Some things we heard suggest we might see an official memory support speed bump to 7200 MT/s , and this listing seems to confirm it.
Rumors suggest the 270K Plus will have 20 cores (like the 265K), while the alleged Ultra 9 290K Plus would feature 24 cores, and the Core Ultra 5 250K would launch with 14 cores. Intel wasn’t expected to add more cores to the Arrow Lake silicon, but it could still adjust SKU names if it believes that better aligns with its lineup.
