ASUS launches ROG Swift OLED PG27AQWP-W: world’s first 540Hz QHD and 720Hz HD dual-mode OLED monitor
ASUS has opened preorders in China for the ROG Swift OLED PG27AQWP-W, a 26.5-inch display that sets a new benchmark for gaming performance. Priced at 8,499 RMB and discounted to 7,998 RMB (around $1,100 USD) during launch. ASUS says this monitor combines record-breaking speed (up to 720Hz) with next-generation OLED technology.
The PG27AQWP-W is the first dual-mode OLED monitor, allowing players to switch between QHD at 540 Hz for detailed visuals and HD at 720 Hz for maximum competitive advantage. Some media outlets incorrectly labeled HD as 1080p, but its just 1280×720, much lower than today’s standards. So while this may be the fastest monitor, I can’t imagine someone paying over $1000 and playing at 720p.

The monitor is built on LG Display’s fourth-generation WOLED panel, the monitor uses tandem-stack OLED technology that delivers 15% higher peak brightness, 25% larger color volume, and 60% longer lifespan compared to earlier designs. It also supports 99.5% of the DCI-P3 color gamut. ASUS includes its TrueBlack Glossy coating for reduced glare and improved clarity under bright lighting. The display integrates OLED Care Pro burn-in prevention tools and a Neo Proximity Sensor that dims the panel when the user steps away.

Connectivity is aimed at next-generation PCs and GPUs, with full-bandwidth DisplayPort 2.1 UHBR20 (80 Gbps) support, two HDMI 2.1 ports, and a USB hub offering three USB-A 5 Gbps ports.
