Thermal Grizzly launches preorders for WireView Pro II, costs $140
Making profit from NVIDIA connector issues or actually giving gamers a chance to prevent them?

Thermal Grizzly has announced and opened preorders for the WireView Pro II, a connector adapter designed to detect and monitor power issues on 16-pin GPU cables. However, it won’t support Founders Edition cards due to their angled connectors. The device fits only custom models and is available in a 90-degree version, with a 180-degree option planned. Both versions will also have a reverse connector option.

The main upgrade from the first version is the color screen , which displays the current for each wire, making it easy to monitor GPU performance. It can also show temperature, voltage, and power consumption. When thresholds are exceeded, it displays warnings and can be configured to trigger a system shutdown through its built-in menu.
Another new addition is a small fan that helps cool the connector, likely the most practical improvement. The fan operates automatically based on temperature and load. Still, with both a display and fan, it’s unclear how much power the adapter itself consumes, as this detail wasn’t specified.
For users who like to log data, the device can store up to 340 days of measurements at 60-second intervals, allowing you to review past usage. However, there’s no software interface, wireless connectivity, or easy way to access that data. At $140, that omission seems like a missed opportunity.

Thermal Grizzly offers a two-year extended warranty that covers graphics card damage caused by faulty or insufficient power delivery through 12VHPWR or 12V-2×6 connectors when using the WireView Pro II. Coverage applies even if the GPU’s own warranty has expired.
Protection is valid only if the device is used as instructed, with all safety features active, and within the manufacturer’s specified operating limits (no shunt mods, XOC BIOS, or mining use).










Alternatives from AlphaCool
A much cheaper alternative with a load balancing feature comes from Alphacool Ampinel . This device works in a similar way and includes a screen showing the current load. It costs about 80 EUR and also supports software monitoring, allowing users to check readings in Windows without looking at the device directly.
Unfortunately, the WireView Pro II is too expensive for most users. It only makes sense for high-end or rare RTX 5090 cards that need extra protection (Limited Edition cards?). Other users should ensure proper cable connections, use cables from the PSU manufacturer or the GPU-supplied adapter, and take photos of the setup. This can greatly help in case of warranty claims.
