PUBG Ally co-playable character based on NVIDIA ACE technology tests start in early 2026

With all the repetitive AI announcements lately, the best use of this technology might have already been shown months ago. Back in January, NVIDIA introduced its updated ACE framework, which enables real-time dialogue with game characters. That idea always seemed like a genuine step forward for games, especially open-world titles where players need to do more than complete quests, but also convince characters to share information or cooperate.
PUBG plans to take that concept further with PUBG Ally, a playable AI-driven teammate that acts under full user control. The co-player can find items, defend, attack, and follow natural language commands, behaving much like a human squadmate.

KRAFTON confirmed that PUBG Ally will enter public testing in early 2026 through PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS Arcade. The system, built using NVIDIA ACE and KRAFTON’s own AI models, runs directly on players’ GeForce RTX GPUs to deliver responsive and context-aware behavior. It will understand both voice and text input across English, Korean, and Chinese.
This will be the first large-scale test of an AI companion in a multiplayer shooter. Feedback from the early access phase will help guide future development and potential full integration into the main game later in 2026.
