Intel planned several variants of Battlemage GPUs

Intel Battlemage hasn’t made many headlines this year, as there have been only two major updates for gamers and workstation/AI systems. The Arc B580 and B570 based on BMG-G21 GPU , launched last year, were initially difficult to find at MSRP, but that goal was eventually met. There are now nearly 30 custom models available based on these SKUs.
Later, Intel launched Arc Pro versions based on the B60 and B50 variants, featuring increased memory capacity and even a dual-GPU configuration. These cards are only now starting to appear at retailers, though they clearly target a different market segment.
Meanwhile, we expect Intel to mention its BMG-G31 GPU , which, according to leaks , is still in development. Early reports indicated that it would not launch alongside the G21 GPU, and those rumors now appear to have been accurate.
BMG G10(X3) was a 3D stacked die with:
28 Xe cores
8MB L2 cache
192b GDDR6
x16 PCIE gen 5
512MB Adamantine cache https://t.co/1qB3PUojqB— Bionic_Squash (@SquashBionic) October 31, 2025
Apparently, the original Battlemage lineup was much more ambitious. Intel had planned at least two additional variants, the BMG-X3 (based on G10) and BMG-X4, featuring 28 and 40 Xe2 cores respectively . According to reliable Intel leaker Bionic_Squash, the X3 version was designed with a 192-bit GDDR6 memory bus and a 512 MB Adamantine Cache . This cache, while slower than L2, would have boosted performance similarly to AMD’s Infinity Cache.
The Adamantine Cache was intended to be 3D-stacked on the base tile, a complex design that may have contributed to its cancellation. The leaker added that all Adamantine Cache products were scrapped, including the BMG-X3, BMG-X4, and Arrow Lake Halo, Intel’s rumored answer to AMD’s Strix Halo.
It’s still unclear why these GPUs were cancelled, whether due to complexity, cost, or disappointing performance, but it explains why Intel once teased “enthusiast-class” Battlemage GPUs that never materialized. Hopefully, the same fate won’t affect the G31, and we’ll get to see it in action one day.
