AOC to launch AGON gaming monitor with 1000Hz FHD mode and 27-inch 5K 165Hz

AOC AGON 2026 gaming monitors leak: 27-inch 5K 165 Hz and 1000 Hz FHD mode

There are some rumors about the upcoming lineup of AOC AGON monitors from Chinese social media.

According to ITHome, which cites “VisionTang,” there are six new AGON monitors coming in 2026. Presumably these monitors will be announced around CES 2025, based on the history of similar announcements.

According to the post, AOC would introduce six monitors, including five 27-inch models and one 21.1-inch TN panel. It appears that AOC has a 5K 165 Hz panel in the works that also supports 330 Hz in dual-mode at 1440p resolution.

One of the most interesting monitors would be the 27-inch QHD model supporting 500 Hz by default at 1440p and a 1000 Hz refresh rate at 1080p (also in dual-mode). This would be the first such monitor, exceeding not only the speed of many 720 Hz displays but also their resolution, as those models are locked to 720p. However, we remain cautious about this point because dual-mode monitors often use half the native resolution for dual-mode settings, so it might not be 1080p but 720p. We will see about that.

AOC AGON monitor series: new 2026 models leaked

Leaked details of AOC’s AGON monitor product plan for 2026 are as follows:

There are currently six new specifications known. They include a 5K ultra-high-definition model, several dual-mode monitors, and a model advertised as reaching 1000 Hz.

  1. 27-inch 5K 165 Hz / QHD 330 Hz dual-mode
  2. 27-inch UHD 160 Hz dual-mode with AI
  3. 27-inch QHD 500 Hz / FHD 1000 Hz dual-mode
  4. 27-inch QHD 420 Hz with circular polarization
  5. 27-inch QHD 360 Hz, PULSAR technology, “1000 Hz effect”
  6. 24.1-inch TN panel, 400 Hz

All new models will adopt AGON’s updated design optimizations, feature a new OSD menu, and support customizable physical buttons. The AI gaming function will automatically adjust game visuals based on the type of game being played.

One monitor that should also be interesting is the one with the PULSAR label. This likely refers to the AG276QSG monitor, which was announced in September 2024 but never reached the market as far as I know. The note refers to G-Sync Pulsar, a special technology that is said to offer “1000 Hz clarity,” hence the “1000 Hz effect” description.
