Special Intel board with 36 USB ports spotted

Custom Intel board with lots of USB connectors

I have never seen so many USB ports on a single board.

The board, based on Intel’s older LGA-1151 platform, appears to include dozens of rear USB Type-A connectors, possibly supported by multiple USB controller chips. Users speculate it was designed for specialized applications rather than regular desktop use, such as phone farms, mass USB device testing, or even mining setups that use USB risers instead of PCIe slots.

This is not the first time such designs have appeared. In the past, ASUS launched the H370 Mining Master with 20 USB riser ports for GPU mining, while ASRock offered boards like the Z890 Taichi Aqua, which featured 8 USB-C interfaces.

Other USB-oriented boards

I have seen many similar boards, and the LGA-1151 platform isn’t knew, however I wasn’t aware that they make versions with 36 ports (8 stacks of 4 and another 4 extra). I recently went through my USB drives, and it took me a good 30 minutes to format all of them, this would make things much simpler.

Obviously no one has any practical and daily use for such a board, but at least the board from Reddit still has room for graphics card.
