AMD now has three Zen5 X3D SKUs for the AM5 socket on a roadmap
Lots of options for gamers.

The Ryzen 7 9700X3D is an SKU we expected, but probably not this soon. AMD did not release a 7700X3D in the previous generation, but it did offer the AM4-based Ryzen 5000 model 5700X3D. This SKU was a bit slower than the 5800X3D. It still performed much better than most non-X3D SKUs in gaming, making it a solid budget choice.
According to the PassMark entry, AMD may soon launch a Zen 5-based variant called Ryzen 7 9700X3D. This SKU would be the second 8-core option, presumably with lower clocks than the 9800X3D, which is AMD’s best-selling CPU for this platform. This is not the only 8-core variant AMD is reportedly planning. The 9850X3D was mentioned earlier by one of the leakers as an even higher-end option than the 9800X3D. If both rumors are correct, AMD would have three 8-core SKUs, which would greatly expand the options in this price bracket (below $500).

Rumored Ryzen 9000X3D CPUs
- Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 – 200W, 16C/32T, 192MB L3 cache, 5.6 GHz / 4.3 GHz Claimed by leaker “Chi11eddog”
- Ryzen 7 9850X3D – 120W, 8C/16T, 96MB L3 cache, 5.6 GHz / 4.7 GHz Claimed by leaker “Chi11eddog”
- ➡️Ryzen 7 9700X3D – 120W, 8C/16T, 96MB L3 cache Spotted on PassMark ⬅️
The performance rating is based on a single sample and shows it as slightly faster than the 9800X3D. This is not representative. Also, the reported clock speed of 5.79 GHz on PassMark seems too high to be a standard configuration. Either the CPU was overclocked, or the data is incorrect.
The full X3D lineup for Zen 5 SKUs now has six variants, but only three are already available for purchase. Gamers are probably most interested in the dual-X3D model and the faster 8-core SKUs. Adding more options should strengthen AMD’s position in this performance tier, which currently faces no real competition from Intel.
