GALAX releases RTX 3080 Ti HOF OC Lab series
GALAX officially launches two RTX 3080 Ti models from its ultra-premium HOF series.
The manufacturer introduced two models: HOF OC Lab and HOF OC Lab XOC Special. Both cards are only listed on the official Chinese Galax website, with no sign of these cards on the international page. Both cards feature the exact same cooling design, in fact, even the packaging is the same.
To make matters worse, even the full specification shows no differences between the two cards. Officially they offer two modes, including P(performance) and S(silent). The former offers factory-overclocking at 1815 MHz and TDP up to 400W by default. According to the official specs, this TDP can be increased to 450W within the overclocking software. Unfortunately, it does not seem that the XOC version offers higher TDP. The auxiliary power is delivered through three 8-pin power connectors attached to a total of 24 phases (14+6+4).
As noted by the official description on QQ, the HOF RTX 3080 Ti OC Lab offers a button that automatically increases fan speed to 100%. This is useful for extreme overclocking for which these cards are designed. The company also confirms that all HOF models are from Bin1. These refer to NVIDIA’s internal binning nomenclature: Bin2, Bin1, and Bin0. The former is extremely rare and not commonly used by AIBs, as they represent a very small batch of cards. The Bin1 is for high-end models featuring overclocking, whereas Bin0 represents the vast majority of cards on the market, usually without factory-applied overclocking.
The HOF RTX 3080 Ti OC Lab has already been available to overclockers for some time. Rauf managed to score 18495 points in Port Royal with a frequency reaching as far as 2775 MHz. This score has been beaten by Overclocked Gaming Systems (OGS) team, by reaching 18726 points and a boost clock of 2.8 GHz.
