ASUS ROG Astral water-cooling design Modding Cafe

Vietnamese modder and PC builder Nhenhophach (Amberspider/Modding Cafe), has unveiled his latest project, a fully water-cooled ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090/5080. This custom design keeps the original GPU aesthetics intact while integrating a complete water-cooling system directly into the card.
The creator describes the project as an effort to “revolutionize GPU water cooling.” Traditional water blocks often strip GPUs of their original look, forcing users to abandon signature shrouds and brand-specific design elements, he adds. Modding Cafe’s new design aims to solve that by allowing a graphics card to remain instantly recognizable, even when fully water-cooled. The system uses a hidden-tube layout , meaning there are no visible fittings or external tubing, everything is hidden inside the cooler.

The ROG Astral water-cooled variant features an integrated radiator, pump, and reservoir , turning the GPU into a self-contained cooling unit. The front section replaces Astral’s original triple-fan setup with two acrylic reservoir windows and a central display showing temperature data . While the original Astral design includes four fans (three front, one rear), photos of the back side of this mod have not yet been shared, unfortunately.

Of course, one has to mention that ASUS ROG Astral series already feature liquid-cooled variant. The standard ROG Astral LC series features an external 360 mm radiator , therefore it is much larger design. The modder has not shared any details on how efficient the cooler.
As with most Modding Cafe creations, this appears to be a one-off showcase build rather than a retail product. Given that even the stock Astral GPUs rank among the most expensive graphics cards available, the cost of a hand-built custom variant like this is likely far beyond consumer reach.
