ONDA has RTX 5050, its first Blackwell GPU

It’s been a long time since we covered the ONDA brand on our site. This China-based graphics card company hasn’t really focused on high-end models in recent years, but their last model was RTX 4080 . Clearly, its focus has shifted to ultra low-budget hardware like motherboards.
Just as we thought that ONDA would be one of the brands that abandoned the GPU market, the company launched the RTX 5050. The last GPUs they launched were based on the RTX 40 series (only two models) and AMD’s RX 6000 series. It looked like their Radeon portfolio was almost put into legacy mode.

The new RTX 5050 is a GB207-based model with 2,560 CUDA cores and 8 GB of 128-bit memory running at 20 Gbps. There’s no sign of a 5060 Ti or any 16 GB models here. The card uses a dual-fan design and requires one 8-pin power connector.

The listing is so fresh that the product description is commented out in HTML, and it’s actually for a tablet. Go figure.
Unfortunately, I have never seen an ONDA GPU listed by US- or EU-based retailers, so don’t expect to stumble upon this card (ever?). Still, I remember covering ONDA GPUs when this site was founded nearly 20 years ago. They have been around for a long time, and hopefully the brand stays that way.
