ASUS flagship RTX 5090 card priced nearly at twice the Founders Edition

ASUS’s ROG Matrix Platinum GeForce RTX 5090 is arriving later than planned. Retailers now list shipping for the end of November, with Proshop Germany showing November 27. The card is listed at €4,099, nearly twice the current €2,099 RTX 5090 Founders Edition MSRP in Europe.
ROG Matrix Platinum is a 30th anniversary edition based on NVIDIA’s Blackwell RTX 5090 with 32 GB of GDDR7. It is a huge quad-slot card built as a showcase product, not a mainstream SKU, and early info points to very limited availability (ASUS confirmed only 1000 units will ever be made).

The main feature is its dual power input. With a standard 12V-2×6 connector the card runs at up to 600W. When combined with a compatible BTF motherboard and hidden high-power slot, it can draw up to 800W , giving around 10% more performance headroom for heavy overclocking.

Cooling is handled by four fans, a copper vapor chamber, liquid metal on the GPU, and a thick heatsink with extra copper in the PCB. ASUS adds tools for enthusiasts, including Memory Defroster for LN2, Power Detector+ for power anomalies.

I don’t think we will see €4,099, ROG Matrix Platinum outside of collectors, reviewers and influencers builds. Gamers looking at pure value can in theory buy two RTX 5090 Founders Edition cards for roughly the same price, which will limit demand from regular buyers.
