Rockstar Confirms GTA VI Delayed Again to November 2026

Rockstar Games has delayed Grand Theft Auto VI once again, pushing its release to November 19, 2026, according to a statement shared on Thursday. The studio cited the need for additional polishing time, saying the extra months will ensure the game meets "We are sorry for adding additional time to what we realize has been a long wait, but these extra months will allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve." The open-world sequel will take players to the state of Leonida and back to a modern-day Vice City.

The announcement came shortly before Take-Two Interactive's quarterly earnings report and follows recent layoffs at Rockstar, as we reported a few days ago, which saw between 30 and 40 employees dismissed across the company's Canada and UK offices. The Independent Workers Union of Great Britain (IWGB) has accused Rockstar of union busting, stating that the fired employees were either union members or in the process of joining. This marks the third delay for GTA VI, which was originally expected in 2025 before being moved to May 2026 earlier this year. Who knows, maybe third time's the charm, and by this time next year we'll be back cruising the streets of Vice City.
