As previously revealed , Wooting has officially launched the founder's campaign (read: pre-order campaign) for the Wooting 60HE v2 . Pricing has remained at the predicted $179.99 starting price, with the most expensive version coming in at $239.99, and the keyboard maker has also confirmed the actual start of shipping date for the 60HE v2 as December 4. Previously, only the plastic case's shipment date was confirmed, but it seems as though Wooting is confident that it will have enough interest to be able to start delivering the first batch within a month of launching the pre-order campaign.
One of the biggest changes to the 60HE v2 is the optional split space layout, and Wooting has put up a tracker on the pre-order page showing the share of split space and traditional pre-orders. At the time of writing, Wooting 60HE v2 buyers are leaning heavily towards the traditional layout rather than split spaces, with split spaces only occupying 20% of the pre-orders, while the remaining 80% of the 60HE v2 pre-orders feature the traditional space bar. This isn't entirely unsurprising, since split space bars are generally limited to enthusiast and ergonomic keyboards, which are by far a minority, and mostly separate from the gaming keyboard market altogether. Pre-built 60HE v2 keyboards will also ship with the new closed-bottom Lekker Tikken Medium switches pre-installed by default, although these can be swapped out if buyers have their own switches.
