Ayaneo appears to be nearing the launch of its long-awaited Next 2 Windows handheld, the true successor to the original Ayaneo Next. The company has revealed new details confirming that the device will be powered by AMD's Ryzen AI Max+ 395 APU, featuring 16 cores and 32 threads built on the Zen 5 architecture, with 64 MB of L3 cache and boost clocks of up to 5.1 GHz. The integrated Radeon 8060S GPU features 40 compute units running at up to 2.9 GHz, capable of offering discrete-class performance in a handheld form factor.

The Next 2 will also feature Ayaneo's latest custom hardware design, including a dual-fan cooling system, high-capacity battery, and at least an 8-inch display, judging from the released pictures. The controls combine a floating 8-way D-pad, Hall effect triggers, and dual intelligent touchpads, with customizable rear buttons and dynamic Chroma lighting.
