Zephyr apologizes for RTX 5070 Ti Abyss Pro Max cooler mix-up, offers refund, swap or cash compensation

Chinese brand Zephyr has issued an apology after some buyers of the RTX 5070 Ti Abyss Pro Max discovered that their cards did not match the original product listing.
The product page advertised a 60 mm thick model, but some customers received a slimmer 50 mm card instead. According to the company, performance and noise levels are the same between the two versions, but GPU and memory temperatures under stress are around 5–7°C higher on the thinner cooler.
Zephyr explains that this card is produced by another manufacturer and blames the issue on a mismatch between supplier samples and actual production materials. In its official statement, the company writes:
We had secured this batch hoping to offer a special discounted deal, but did not expect a problem where the supplier’s delivered materials did not match the samples. This also led to mistakes in our product information and failed to meet your expectations. The 50 mm thick version has cooling performance at the level of a standard RTX 5070 Ti, and compared with the originally listed 60 mm version, GPU stress temperatures are about 5–7°C higher.

To fix things for buyers who received the 50 mm S version, Zephyr is offering three options:
- Return and refund – Customers can send the card back for a full refund. Zephyr says it has enabled return shipping coverage and will pay any extra shipping cost.
- Exchange for the thicker model – The company is checking warehouse stock to see how many of the 60 mm cards are available for swaps.
- Keep the card and take compensation – Customers who keep the S-type card can contact support to receive 100 yuan compensation and an extra one year of replacement warranty.
Zephyr says it will process whichever option users pick and promises closer control over the supply chain to avoid similar problems.
The RTX 5070 Ti Abyss Pro Max is basically the same as Palit’s GamingPro series, which itself went through a recent redesign. The company has 50mm GamingPro and 60mm GamingPro-S (released later):
