Zhitai Intros TiPlus 7100s PCIe 4.0 SSD Featuring YMTC Xtacking 4.0 NAND

Chinese storage brand Zhitai (a subsidiary of YMTC) has announced the TiPlus 7100s, an updated PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD to the TiPlus 7100 model launched in 2022. The new drive uses YMTC's latest Xtacking 4.0 3D NAND, promising higher I/O throughput, improved density, and better reliability over the previous generation. YMTC's Xtacking 4.0 NAND is a fifth-generation 3D TLC design with 294 total layers and hybrid bonding between logic and memory arrays. The new SSDs lack a dedicated DRAM cache, however, the TiPlus 7100s deliver sequential read speeds of up to 7400 MB/s and writes of up to 6900 MB/s. Random performance also sees an uplift, reaching up to 1,500K IOPS in both read and write (66% and 114% compared to the TiPlus 7100).

Endurance ratings are solid for its class, with 600 TBW for 1 TB, 1200 TBW for 2 TB, and 2400 TBW for 4 TB models. The Zhitai TiPlus 7100s is already on sale through the company's official JD.com store in China. Pricing starts at ¥659 (~$93) for 1 TB, ¥1,099 (~$154) for 2 TB, and ¥1,999 (~$281) for the 4 TB version.
