ASUSTOR has introduced two new entry-level NAS models, the AS1202T (two 3.5-inch SATA III drive bays) and AS1204T (four 3.5-inch SATA III bays) designed for personal and home storage. Both units are powered by a Realtek RTD1619B quad-core 1.7 GHz processor with 1 GB of DDR4 memory (non-upgradeable). A built-in 2.5 GbE port provides transfer speeds up to 266 MB/s read and 160 MB/s write (RAID 5). The AS12 series supports H.264 and AV1 hardware decoding and smooth 4K @60 FPS playback via ASUSTOR's LooksGood app. The front panel includes power, system status, network, and HDD LED indicators, while power and reset buttons are placed on the back. Both models feature three USB 5 Gbps ports (one front, two rear) for backups and peripheral connections. Drives can be installed tool-free, and the system supports RAID 0/1/5/6/10, Single, and JBOD configurations, along with a hardware encryption engine and easy system migration.
Backup and sync include DataSync Center and Cloud Backup Center, allowing users to set up hybrid and cloud-based protection under the 3-2-1 backup principle. The ASUSTOR AS1202T supports up to 60 TB, while the AS1204T can have a maximum storage capacity of 120 TB. Both models include Wake-on-LAN and Remote Wake-on-WAN. The Drivestor 2 Gen 2 (AS1202T) measures 165 × 102 × 218 mm, weighs 1.16 kg, and uses a 65 W power adapter, drawing 11.2 W during operation and 6.95 W in disk hibernation. The AS1204T measures 165 × 164 × 218 mm, weighs 1.60 kg, and includes a 90 W power adapter, with power consumption rated at 21.4 W active and 8.65 W in hibernation. Pricing and retail availability have not yet been announced.
