ASUS Pro WS B850M-ACE SE launches with Ryzen 9000 and EPYC 4005 support

ASUS has released its new Pro WS B850M-ACE SE micro-ATX workstation motherboard, now listed in China at 4,499 RMB and already available in the US at around 359 USD. The board targets “advanced AI PCs” and supports both consumer AMD Ryzen 9000/8000/7000 processors and AMD EPYC Embedded 4005 series CPUs on the AM5 socket.

The Pro WS B850M-ACE SE follows the familiar Pro WS design with a rotated layout. The CPU socket is mounted horizontally, while the four DDR5 UDIMM slots and 8+4-pin EPS power connectors sit along the airflow path of the graphics card. ASUS uses an 8+2+1 phase power design, an 8-layer PCB and ProCool II power connectors, and adds aluminum alloy chokes and capacitors for workstation use.

ASPEED’s AST2600 BMC provides server-grade IPMI remote management, paired with ASUS Control Center Express for in-band and out-of-band monitoring. A dedicated 1 GbE port connects the BMC, so management traffic stays separate from the main network links.

ASUS Pro WS B850M-ACE SE AMD Micro-ATX motherboard, with server-grade IPMI management, PCIe 5.0 x 16, PCIe 5.0 M.2, PCIe 5.0 MCIO, U.2 connector, 10Gb and 2.5Gb Ethernet, ready for USB4®

  • AMD AM5 Socket Support: Compatible with AMD Ryzen™ 9000/8000/7000 Series and AMD EPYC™ 4005 Series processors.

Expansion is built around PCIe 5.0. The board offers one PCIe 5.0 x16 slot wired to the CPU and one PCIe 4.0 x4 slot in a full-length form factor from the chipset, both with SafeSlot reinforcement for heavy GPUs. Storage options include two PCIe 5.0 x4 M.2 2280 slots, one PCIe 5.0 x4 MCIO connector, plus one U.2 port that can also provide four SATA III 6 Gbps ports.
